Avoid Printing Emails

Printing an email, unless necessary, wastes paper, electricity, and ink. Some people print off emails they receive because they do not like reading them off a screen, but the less emails printed off, the better. By putting a statement at the bottom of your emails asking people to only print emails if they have to, you could help reduce the amount of emails that are pointlessly printed.

Please feel free to suport Little Green Step.com and help the environment by copying and pasting this statement into the bottom of your email signature:

Please consider the environment and only print this email if it's essential- thank you. For more little green tips please visit www.littlegreenstep.com

Turn off you're Computer

If you're not using your computer its best to turn it off. If for some reason it would not be suitable to turn of your computer but you are not using it then many computers now have a 'hibernate mode' that saves power and what you were doing on the computer.

The EcoButton

The EcoButton is very simple. You plug it into your computer then when you leave it for a break you push it and it puts your computer into hibernate mode, when you get back you push it again to return to your computer activity and it tells you how much electric you have saved and an approximation of how much money you have saved. There is a BBC video demonstrating the Eco Button
