Easy Heating Tips
Use Draft Excluders

Here is an improvised draft excluder; simply a towel rolled up and tied at the ends with string or elastic bands. You can buy pretty and creative draft excluders, some look like sausage dogs and other long animals.
A draft excluder is a long piece of fabric that stops the cold draft from coming in under your door helping to insulate the room so less energy is needed to keep the room warm.
Turn Down your Thermostat
Turning down the thermostat on your heating even just a couple of degrees will save energy. If you only turn your thermostat down a few degrees, then you probably wont even notice a difference, but you will be saving energy.
Use Solid Wood Doors
Glass, plastic and metal are worse insulators than wood, so by having solid wood doors, your home will be better insulated and will require less energy to keep warm.
Heat the Room You Are In
If you are spending most of your time in one room, keep the door for that room closed. This means you can heat just the room instead of the whole house, saving lots of energy.
